- Prepare 1 Cup day old Rice
- Prepare Half block of Firm Tofu
- Take 2 Tablespoons Mushroom Soy Sauce
- Take 2 pinches Salt
- Take 1 Bell Pepper
- Prepare 1 Clove Garlic
- Get 2 Tablespoons Oil
This recipe works the same exact way as day-old rice if you simply boil and cook your rice and then rinse it in a strainer in your sink. This means adding the vegan butter to the wok, chopping & dicing the veggies, and mixing together the soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, and sugar for the vegan fried rice sauce. Add the rice and mix it all together. Add the greens (if using) and green onions, and stir to combine.
Steps to make Vegan Fried Rice:
- Wash and dice your bell pepper. Cube your tofu into a similar size to your bell pepper. Finely chop your garlic.
- In a pan heat the oil until almost smoking and then add the bell pepper. Add 1 pinch of salt and fry until it looks slightly char grilled.
- Add the tofu and add the other pinch of salt. Fry together until the tofu is a light golden colour.
- Add the garlic last to prevent burning. Fry for 30 seconds before adding the rice.
- Add the soy sauce and turn the heat down. Stir fry together until the rice is hot then serve.
Add the rice and mix it all together. Add the greens (if using) and green onions, and stir to combine. In a saucepan bring water to a boil.
