Adding dried apple rings intensified the flavors of the chutney, although the dried fruit absorbed so much of the orange juice that I added an extra half cup from my original recipe. Dates added richness and the pomegranate anils give the chutney a bit of a spark. In a large bowl, toss together the apples, pomegranate seeds, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.

The ingredients needed to make Apple and Pomegranates Chutney:
  1. Prepare 3 Apple Cut into thin slices
  2. Get 1/2 tsp Salt
  3. Prepare 1/2 Pomegranate
  4. Prepare 1 Cup Sugar
  5. Prepare 1 Cup Water

Mix oil well such that no trace of oil is seen and the chutney mixture shines. Slowly bring to the boil and simmer until the apple is soft. Remove form the heat and with a potato masher, mash the apple and pomegranate mixture until it is a puree. This process will release the pectin from the apple and juice from the pomegranate seeds.

Instructions to make Apple and Pomegranates Chutney:
  1. In a saucepan/wok/pan: Add in the measured sugar & water- to prepare the sugar syrup & allow the sugar to dissolve completely & come to a boil
  2. Slice the Apples & keep it aside: Once the sugar syrup starts boiling: Add in the Apples Slices first & allow it to cook for about 5-6 mins time
  3. Then, add in the Pomegranates and again, allow it to cook until the Sugar Syrup turns quite thick enough
  4. Once the right consistency is reached & the apples are well cooked & combined with it- Turn off the flame
  5. Allow it to sit won the oven for about 2-3 mins time & dish out to a serving bowl…initially, it may look a bit thin or runny but as its cools down, it starts thickening
  6. ENJOY with family & friends.

Remove form the heat and with a potato masher, mash the apple and pomegranate mixture until it is a puree. This process will release the pectin from the apple and juice from the pomegranate seeds. Meanwhile, for chutney, cut pomegranate in half. Working over a small bowl and using a small spoon, separate pomegranate seeds from membranes, placing seeds in bowl and discarding membranes. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat.
