Usually naans are cooked in tandoor (clay ovens). At home you can cook grill them in an oven or cook them on a tava/griddle.
Steps to make Butter Naan:
- Mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, salt, Curd and oil. Mix them all together.
- Knead this dough, till it becomes smooth and pliable, adding enough water as needed.Now if you hav time then give rest to the dough at least 15 min or you can continue with it.
- Then after that, divide the dough into 4-6 equal portion and keep it aside.Now take kalunji seeds, coriander leaves, melted butter for making the Naan
- Now, Begin to roll the dough to medium round shape.Then sprinkle some kalunji seeds and chopped coriander on top of it.Now flip the Naan and apply water at the back side so that it stick to pan properly
- Atlast transfer the naan into pan.Let it cook from the one side then turn the frying pan upside down on gas on medium flame so that it cooked properly and colour changes.Finally apply melted butter on Naan and serve hot.
Usually naans are cooked in tandoor (clay ovens). At home you can cook grill them in an oven or cook them on a tava/griddle. With your hands, blend the butter into the flour until it forms coarse crumbs. You can do this in a blender as well, but the dough when worked with hands gives a better texture to the dough. Even if you find Indian food too exotic and spicy, Naan is still loved by all.
