In a large bowl, cream together sugar and butter. Mix in peanut butter and vanilla until smooth and creamy. Stir in salt, baking soda and flour until well combined. Add the rest of the ingredients.

- Lightly grease 2 baking trays (cookie sheets).
- In a large mixing bowl,beat together the butter and peanut butter.
- Gradually add the sugar and beat well.

- Sieve (strain) the flour,baking powder and salt into the peanut butter mixture.
- Add the peanuts and bring all of the ingredients together to form a soft dough.Wrap and leave to chill for about 30 minutes.
- Form the dough into 20 balls and place them on to the prepared baking trays (cookie sheets) about 5cm/2 inches apart to allow for spreading.Flatten them slightly with your hand.
- Bake in a preheated oven,190 oC/375 oF/Gas Mark 5,for 15 minutes until golden brown.Transfer the biscuits (cookies) to a wire rack and leave to cool.
Stir in salt, baking soda and flour until well combined. Add the rest of the ingredients. Roll into balls and press down with a fork dipped in sugar or flour.
